Note Studio: Who are we?

March 1, 20245 minutes read

Currently, behind Note Studio there are three people: Tomás Holtz, Julián Guerrero and Facundo López. Three Computer Engineering students at Buenos Aires Institute of Technology (ITBA).

Why did we start?

Far from wanting to sell you a grand mission or a big problem we had, the truth is that we were bored.

Having finished our final exams in December and being on vacation until March, we asked ourselves: "why not spend that time creating software?".

It could be anything, there were no defined ideas, but we trusted that starting with something, even if it was anything, would perhaps lead us to another idea over time.

Now, Note Studio

The three of us use AI on a daily basis to study, solve exercises, generate summaries, etc. And we started to notice that most of our classmates didn't, or that they weren't using AI in the most "efficient" way possible.

We don't blame them either. Sometimes it's hard to understand the differences between each model (GPT-3, GPT-4.0, GPT-o1, Sonnet, Gemini and the list goes on), plus most people won't pay $20 to access moderately useful models.

The MVP

The first conclusion was to create a platform that would do the following:

  1. Simplify the use of AI for studying
(You don't need to know which models exist or which is best for each task).
  2. Allow you to store all your notes inside
So you can consult them with a contextual chat (which ChatGPT, for example, doesn't allow).
  3. Generate exams
From your notes or theoretical material for practice.
  4. Reward those who share useful notes
People whose notes benefit many others will receive free access to the paid version of the platform.

Solving our own problems

Although we don't know if this first version will work or not, the good thing is that we're making a product that is, first and foremost, for ourselves. This allows us to be constantly aware of what things we can improve.

And if it doesn't work, we learned something by building it.

We want you to be part of it

We created a Discord server to interact with you, hear your feedback, complaints, and ideas.

Anything that doesn't work correctly, or that you'd like to see on the platform, we invite you to come by and tell us about it.

Thanks for reading this far, we hope we're being at least somewhat helpful. See you!
